More Yu-Gi-Oh! art!!
Goodness, am I in love these characters! XD
Anyway, here's a sketch of Yami from the Duelist Kingdom arch (manga). After drawing his first appearance, I figured that I ought to draw his modern look. (Hmm, he does a lot of pointing, doesn't he?) I've decided to settle with drawing his manga appearance, rather than the anime. Not that the anime is that different, but I can tell a lot of the different artist's styles that show up in the anime. Since the manga is done by one person (and the original creator, no less), it is the best place to find consistent references. (Yami was affected most by the style changes, where Yugi seemed to stay relatively the same.) Actually, my first colored picture of Yami was referenced by my favorite style that I saw in the show. (Whoever it was, I really liked how manly they made Yami's face look. Can't explain how they did it, but they did a great job. Maybe because his eyes weren't as large? Their episodes also seemed the best animated and colored compared to the others.)
As always, I had a lot of fun drawing him. I need to do Yugi and Yami together some time. You can't have one without the other!
Previous Yu-Gi-Oh! art:
Yami and Yu-Gi-Oh! belong to Kazuki Takahashi.
