The Fallen Rose sketch - 10/25/12

Ok, so this sketch was made as a memorial to my dear DA friend

On this date, she had posted a journal saying that she was going to take her own life. Many of her friends (I included) pleaded with her not to. In a little over 30 minutes, she posted one last goodbye, before deactivating her account. As soon as I saw this, I spent the past few minutes in fervent prayer. Pleading with The Lord to hold herself back. Afterwards, I began drawing this picture.

This image depicts my main OC, Luca, holding her OC, Solaris. He cradles her lifeless body, and is deeply pained to see her gone. The title was made for my friend's use of roses in ties with this character.

But, the story does not end! About a half hour after deactivating her account, my friend returned! She is using a new account now. Hopefully, she will never get to that point of depression ever again.


Even though she did not take her life, I still am posting this. Now, as a memorial as to what could have been. I love you Kat! I'm so glad God spared you from yourself.
