Kotian Hands Updated, plus practice

Description

If you people don't know, I have trouble doing things like this. Which sucks because I know artists should do this sort of stuff to help learn and better themselves. Unfortunately, I prefer making complete pictures and hate filling my books with messing around sketches like this. Luckily, I have set aside a notebook that I am willing to do such things in.

Some of you guys know that I've asked and wondered about whether I should change the Kotian's finger count from 4 to 5. Well, today I finally felt like practicing, and with some references, ended up concluding that I do want to make the switch. I first drew Luca when I was a newbie artist and all my characters had 4 fingers. Over time I have added new characters and species with 5 fingers as my skill allowed. When I first was signing up to DA, I had wondered whether I should start drawing Kotians with 5 fingers so that no one would know. But, Kotian hands were different than normal 4 fingered characters I had, and I couldn't convert them comfortably. My continually developing skill with hands spilled into Kotian hands and they have gotten closer to the real thing. I'm ready now to make the conversion.

I made 12 hands. The numbers are the order in which I did them. I, obviously, used Luca's hand for the majority of this. I also did 4 Tasha hands. (Luca's hands are wider palmed and thicker fingers than Tasha. Also, she has long, slender fingers) The first hand was my first 5 digit Luca hand and I immediately drew his original styled hand next to the first. Visually, the new hand looks more accurate, which also makes it look better. The rest of the hands are just messing around with the new version.

The hand on the way right was attached to a body (if you look close enough, you can see a little of the body) Pretty much, I was going to have Luca be all, "Heck yes! Five fingers, Baby!" But the pose got all odd and he didn't look like himself. So, he was erased, but I couldn't get rid of his nice hand on a hand page. That's why that hand is separate from the rest of the pack.

If you want to see the references I used, just check my favorites folder under "References."  Most hands will be at the very beginning. :)

Didn't actually use this, but his tutorials are pretty good. Just don't EVER look at his female one!!! ---> Hand tutorial by shingworks

These are really, REALLY cool. Kotian hands look a lot more ... I don't know, real with five fingers??? I like it, whatever it is.
I seriously wish I could draw hands like these! They all came out spectacularly.
I really like ... Hm. I like a lot of them. 6 and 7, 10 and 11? (heyyy that rhymes) All of them lovely. Kotian hands are quite cool.
