Description

Would have posted this sooner, but I had to edit out a few seconds of blackness. And since I didn't quite know how to do it at the time, it took me a bit. ^^;

You'll see that I changed it's colors a few times. This is because I had never colored this creature before. I first started with my original idea, but quickly realized that I didn't like it. So, I went with a more ghostly, pale look which actually makes more sense if you've ever seen grass that has been devoid of sunlight. The darkness of the night makes it hard to see just how pale the are colors are that I used. I also used a different tool to put stars in the sky this time. Helped make them more random and was less time consuming.

Not sure what else to say... This video is a pretty good representative of how I typically color my art. I don't tend to draw directly on to Procreate, because its difficult to get what I want using my fingers on a touch screen. (I have a stylus, but it sucks compared to a real pencil. Prefer finger to it.) So, I draw mostly from my sketch pad and import the pictures to color.

Instead of using darker or lighter colors for shadowing and lighting, I use black and white. And since lighting and shadows can come in different colors, I can also change them to fit the surrounding. (Like the blue reflecting off of the collar thing.)

In keeping with the most common adjective I get, I am constantly cleaning my lines and other things to keep things "neat." So, if it looks like nothing is happening, I'm probably cleaning/erasing stuff.

I you want to know more about the creature itself, here is the finished work:

Wow it's really beautiful! I like how it's light makes it look partially glow-y, it gives it a more ghostly look :)

Also, you drew this on your tablet with your finger? Whoa! I tried that once and gave up quickly, so I realize that it takes a lot of effort and willpower to make such an awesome drawing like this. In other words, congratulations!
